Spear of the Heretic is an isometric action rouge-lite game where you fight endless waves of eldritch bug creatures with only your spear and your bug companion.

The player controls a small character who must fight off massive swarms of enemies using their trusty spear, which can be used to melee enemies, or can be thrown as a ranged attack.

The player picks up treasure dropped by these creatures and can use it to upgrade their spear and powers indefinitely, with each upgrade costing more and more.

 

As waves progress, stronger enemies appear, and the player must focus these enemies down. The player’s goal is simply to survive for as long as possible.
